Description- In the early days, when the computers were just brought out, humans had to manually put down to the machine what they want and how they want it and that limited what computers could perform. In the present computers have more potential with artificial intelligence which essentially learns what to do by going through previous such examples and they are both good and fast at looking for fresh patterns or new insights in large amounts of data. The Google Brain team began to work on the project in 2011 and machine making has slowly but steadily and greatly progressed and developed over the years. The team basically wanted to find out if they could model the promising tech out of the lab and into everyday products much faster. They bring to everyone the benefits of artificial intelligence and machine learning. They applied their insights on a range of Google products and it graduated in late 2012 as a part of Google AI. They power products that widely range from Google Translate, Android’s speech recognition system, search in Google Photos, video recommendations in YouTube, and more. Till date, they break ground with experiments in fields like healthcare, cryptography, and robotics.

Interesting Facts:

  • Their work’s central focus is catapulting “deep learning” from the academic arena to the commercial prime time.
  • Their perception was of creation and training of a network to produce learning so accurate and so general that it would open up new horizons for the real-world applications of machine learning.
  • They have created one of the largest ever networks for machine learning by connecting 16,000 computer processors.
  • For starters, they generated a digital image of a cat by assembling all the features that, according to the millions of images it was fed, comprise a cat.
  • The evolution has made it possible to embed more intelligence to new and exciting possibilities.
