Aleppo was Syria’s once largest city and was a hub of ancient history, arts, culture, sports, and education. In 2011, when the Syrian war began, the city was at the front line. For many years, parts of the city were under siege . The city is on the mend now. The evacuated population are returning to rebuild their lives, at least some of them. Nevertheless, Syria is still a war zone, and is not recommended for foreigners to travel to for safety reasons.
