1. Portugal

Living at a slow pace, exceptionally welcoming locals and good healthcare are enough to describe Portugal. Also, hands down, it is beautiful with historical sites to the beaches of the Algarve and more. You could settle down in Mafra, which is 21 miles northwest of Lisbon and 15 minutes from surfing beaches in Ericeira and has beautifully white-washed houses trimmed in yellow and blue, lining narrow cobbled streets with many cafés and bars. If you are living in Mafra, you would have to pay a little more than Libson but you can live lavishly in $2,034 a month.
